PATIALA: Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) will install 30 more Bill Payment Machines in various cites of Punjab to provide best of services to its consumers.
K.D.Chaudhri, Chairman cum Managing Director, PSPCL said here Thursday that corporation has already 35 Bill Payment Machines installed in different cities/towns and new machines will be installed in Patiala, Nabha, Rajpura, Sangrur, Dhuri, Malerkotla, Barnala, Nangal, Zirakpur, Ludhiana, Jagraon, Ahmedgarh, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Nakodar, ShahidBhagat Singh Nagar, Banga, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Batala, Dinanagar, Tarntaran, Faridkot, Moga, Ferozepur, Abohar & Fazilka.
Giving success details of earlier installed bill payment machines, he disclosed that in the month of June 2010 alone, more than 1.1 Lacs consumers remitted their bills worth Rs. 51 Crores through these machines.
He further informed that consumers can remit their Domestic, Industrial, Agricultural or Commercial electricity bills upto 100KW load on these machines. Presently amount upto Rs.5000/- can be remitted in cash and above that through Cheque or Draft.
CMD appealed to consumers to make use of the latest technological advances being introduced by corporation for electricity bill payment and save themselves from standing in long queues.
Making easy bill payment is one such section in which the corporation is introducing latest technological advances to keep consumers free from standing in long queues or even step out of their homes to pay their electricity bills.
He said that apart from paying electricity bills in collection centres customers can now pay their bills on Bill Payment machines, through on Spot billing system or while sitting at homes they can pay online also.

NNOCC-Commencement of operations

FTL commenced NNOCC (National Network Operations & Control Centre) operations on 15th August 2010.The NNOCC is a key initiative for FTL to improve the quality of customer services and support. Through this set–up, FTL moves up the value chain to provide a higher (premium) level of service that will include not only hardware support & software support but customer care and managed services. The NNOCC shall act as the nerve centre for FTL’s large network of kiosks across the country for banks, telecom, power and insurance companies.

FTL and Café Coffee Day (CCD) have signed an agreement to work together to deploy Self-Service Terminals at CCD outlets across the country. Under this arrangement, FTL will serve as the Technology & Services provider, whereas CCD will provide location & facilitation.
As part of the rollout, CCD and FTL will partner with several other entities for providing consumers with convenient access to bill payment, mobile recharge, ticketing, cash dispensing, cash deposit and other value-added services. All the devices that will be deployed (self-service terminals and multi-function ATMs), have been designed and developed in-house by FTL.

In Jan 2010, FTL bagged the contract from State Bank of India to deploy 490 Multi Function Kiosks across the country. The kiosks offer various card based functionalities like pin change, balance enquiry, cheque book request, funds transfer, e-ticketing, internet banking, bill payments, passbook updation etc.

FTL and IBM have signed an MoU to partner in Financial Inclusion and thereby offer an end-to-end technology-based platform for providing the entire spectrum of Financial Inclusion services. The platform services are targeted for the Financial Inclusion programs of various entities such as Banks, MFIs, Insurance companies etc.
FTL has extensive experience in the area of self-service automation and has the expertise to design, manufacture & deploy a wide array of front-end devices relevant to Financial Inclusion. IBM has the capability to provide a robust technology platform, including the middleware, servers, data centre and storage. Forbes recently entered into an agreement with Posiflex to sell their products in India.
Established in 1984 and an ISO 9001/9002/14001/IECQ QC 080000 certified manufacturer from Taiwan, Posiflex is a world leader in Point-of-Sale terminals and related products. The company holds 30 patents worldwide which cover secure, integrative, flexible and easy-to-use features integrated into its products.
BSNL Agreement

FTL has tied up with BSNL to accept cash and cheque payments by deploying kiosks under a transaction fee model across the country. FTL shall install and maintain 1000 numbers of automated bill payment machines at BSNL and offsite locations on PAN India basis in a period of 15 months with the first 200 machines installed in the first 6 months.

BSNL kicked off kiosk based bill payment services under the aegis of Project Smile with the inauguration of Forbes Kiosks at BSNL Nagpur – CTO, Sakkardara & Khamla. FTL has , this date,signed a significant agreement with NCR to resell their products in India.
NCR Corporation ( Founded on the USA in 1884), is a technology company specializing in products for the retail, financial, travel, healthcare, food service, entertainment, gaming and public sector industries. Its main products are point-of-sale terminals, automated teller machines, cheque processing systems, self service kiosks,barcode scanners, and business consumables. They also are one of the largest providers of IT maintenance support services.
As a consequence of this agreement, FTL will now have a new set of products in it’s portfolio including ATMs, Cash Recyclers, Self Service Check Outs, Scanners and Printers.
This strategic tie-up will consolidate FTL’s presence very strongly in the Financial & Retail sectors.
FTL bags contract from ICICI for Counterfeit Traceability Solution for Agra

FTL shall be implementing its “Counterfeit Traceability Solution” at all branches of ICICI Bank in Agra city. This rollout is a manifestation of ICICI Bank’s faith in FTLs product and support capabilities. The solution has been jointly developed with ICICI Bank and ensures the tracing of a counterfeit currency note to the deposit, using technologies like high speed imaging and optical character recognition.
