Image Based Teller Cash Dispenser |
| |
| |
The Image Based Teller Cash Dispenser is an automated cash dispensing system based on recognition techniques employed
with imaging of the checks. |
| |
| |
This solution deployed at teller counters, commences with scanning of the checks received at bank tellers and ends with dispensing cash,
and is primarily used for self checks. |
| |
| |
The solution components include the following : |
- Sierra Xpedite imaging software with automatic MICR, OCR and ICR
- Check scanner
- Teller Cash dispenser
| |
| |
The system integrates with the Core Banking Solution (CBS). |
| |
| |
With a redesigned check as below, the system readily lends itself to improving the overall experience of the bank staff. |

The check scanner scans the checks to generate an image as well as pick up the MICR information and other manually
written information. The MICR band is decoded to generate the Bank, Branch, City, Account Number and Account Type information
(Optical Character Recognition – OCR) while the Payee Name, Amount to be paid and the date is read via Intelligent Character
Recognition (ICR). This information after verification is then passed on to the cash dispenser for automatic dispensing of the
required amount. |
| |
| |
The cash dispenser contains cassettes to hold cash of different denominations. It comes with its own software which facilitates
configuring the machine for the denominations and the amount of cash it holds. It also makes various reports available to the tellers
to facilitate cross-verification at any given point in time. |

Advantages of the Teller Cash Dispenser System : |
- Faster turnaround for customer
- Reduction in data entry load through the use of recognition techniques
- Reduction in cash dispensing time through use of Teller Cash dispenser controlled by the core system
